Day 1 : Ahmedabad Begin your tour Arrive into Ahmedabad Welcome
to Vardhman's "Desert & Birding Tour"! On arrival in Ahmedabad,
you will be met and transferred by our representative to your hotel. After some
relaxation, proceed on a city sightseeing tour in the remaining half day.
Visit the magnificent Mosque of Siddi Saiyad with its exquisite stone carvings,
the beautiful Jama Masjid, White marbled Hathee Singh's Temple, Dada Hari Baoli,
Calico Textile Museum and Sabarmati Ashram started by Mahatma Gandhi (Father of
Nation). Overnight: Hotel Day 2: Ahmedabad - Dasada On
the day 2 of your tour drive to Dasada. Enroute visit Nalsarovar bird sanctuary,
where spot a number of rare migratory birds like Geese, Pelicans, Flamingos, etc.
You can also take a boat ride (at your own cost) on the lake. Upon arrival at
Dasada, check into your pre-booked hotel for an overnight stay. Overnight:
Hotel Day 3: Dasada-Little Rann of Kutch After a leisurely
breakfast drive to Little Rann of Kutch. Upon arrival check into your hotel. Later
visit Little Rann of Kutch, where you can spot wildlife like asses, Indian blue
bull etc. Little Rann of Kutch, Gujarat: situated in the Thar Desert
was established in January 1972 as a sanctuary for the last population of Indian
wild ass (khar). The wild ass depends on the thorny scrub of the higher ground
area for its feed. Also found in this park are chinkara gazelle, nilgai antelope,
wolf, blackbuck antelope, hyena, desert fox, jackal, desert cat, and caracal.
Dryland birds like the sandgrouse, houbara bustard, desert wheatear, steppe eagle,
montagu harrier, etc can be seen in winter. Later in the evening you can
visit the nearby villages like Bharwad, Rabari, etc. to get a feel of their rich
and vibrant cultural heritage. Overnight: Hotel Day 4: Little
Rann of Kutch-Gondal Day free to visit the marshlands of the Little Rann
of Kutch. These lakes and marshlands attract flamingoes, pelicans, cranes, ducks,
etc in large flocks. In the afternoon depart Rann of Kutch for Gondal.
Reach and check into your pre-booked hotel. After some relaxation visit the Maharaja's
private collections (only open for viewing by those staying at their heritage
hotels) at Naulakha Palace Museum and the Vintage and Classic Car Collection museum,
the Bhuvaneshwari Ayurvedic Pharmacy where herbal medicines are made according
to ancient recipes and the historic Swaminarayan temple. Evening proceed for the
tour of the bird-rich lakes and grasslands around Gondal. Overnight: Hotel
Day 5 : Gondal -Gir On the day 5 of your tour, proceed around Gondal
for a sightseeing tour. Visit popular tourist attractions like Naulakha Palace,
Swami Narayan temple, which are very famous here. Then in the afternoon drive
to Sasan Gir. Check into your pre-booked hotel for overnight rest. Overnight:
Hotel Day 6: Gondal- Sasan Gir Full day free to visit Sasan
Gir National Park. Gir National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary: is known all
over the world for being the natural abode of the Asiatic lion, panther, sambar,
spotted deer, blue bull, 4-horned antelope, Indian gazelle, etc. Crested hawk
eagle, crested serpent eagle, bonneli's eagle, paradise flycatcher, treepie, blossom
headed parakeet, are among the many birds seen. Overnight: Hotel Day
7: Sasan Gir Full day free to visit Sasan Gir National Park. (Morning
and evening Safari into the Jungle) Overnight: Hotel Day 8: Sasan
Gir Full day free to visit Sasan Gir National Park. (Morning and evening
Safari into the Jungle) Overnight: Hotel Day 9: Sasan Gir - Bhavnagar
This morning after a leisurely breakfast drive to Bhavnagar. Upon arrival,
check into your hotel. Later visit Gaurishankar Lake, Takhteshwar Temple, Water
Lock gate. Gaurishankar Lake Gaurishankar Lake is a popular picnic spot.
A number of fairs and other public events are also organized here. The lake is
flanked by a beautiful garden known as Pil Garden. There is also a small planetarium
in the vicinity. Water Lock Gate Water Lock Gate is a one of its kind
structure in Gujarat. It was constructed with a special purpose i.e. to maintain
the level of the sea water in the docks. This helps the ships to float during
the time of low tide. It is allowed to see this gate, but only with prior permission.
Takhteshwar Temple Takhteshwar Temple is located on a hillock near the
city. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is an important pilgrim place for the
nearby region. It was built in the year 1893 by Maharaja Takhatsihnji. The temple
and the whole complex are made up of white shining marble. It is a much sought
after picnic spot and offers a panoramic view of the city. Overnight: Hotel Day
10: Bhavnagar Full day trip to Velavadar National Park,one of the best
areas for blackbuck viewing in India. Velavadar is the winter roosting ground
for a large number of montagu, pallid and marsh harrier. Look for other wildlife
like wolf nilgai, Indian fox, jungle cat, hare, etc. Black Buck National
Park, Velavadar: It was established in the year 1976 in the Bhal region of Saurashtra
and spreads over an area of 34.08 sq. km and has appropriate grasslands ecosystem.
This has helped in the conservation of Black Buck, Wolf and Lesser Florican (a
bustard). Black Buck Wildlife Sanctuary has the maximum population of black bucks
in India. This animal is more beautiful and graceful as compared to any other
species. Return to Bhavnagar by the evening for an overnight rest. Overnight:
Hotel Day 11: Bhavnagar-Mumbai This morning after breakfast
transfer to Bhavnagar airport to board flight for Mumbai.Upon arrival at Mumbai
airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel by our representative. Relax
for a while and then proceed on a half day city tour of Mumbai. Visit Kamla
Nehru Park, Hanging Gardens situated on the slopes of Malabar Hill offering a
panoramic view of Marine drive, Chowpatty Beach. Overnight: Hotel
Day 12: Mumbai Half day excursion to Elephanta Caves. Half day
excursion across the harbour to the world famous, 1200 yrs. old Elephanta caves,
dedicated to Lord Shiva, the famous sculpture signifying the trinity of the creator,
the preserver and the destroyer is located here. In the evening transfer to
Mumbai International Airport for onward flight back home with sweet and unforgettable
